President’s Report

PABUG was kicked off at Elive 2017 in Orlando, Florida. Many people came to hear about PABUG and to sign up for another fun year of planning. We really appreciated everyone’s time and help to kick off another great year.

Officers Retreat and Track Leader Retreat was held May 8th and May 9th in Grantville, PA. It was great to see everyone. All the Board Members and almost all the Track Leads were in attendance.

Soon after the May retreat, we had a Tech Day called PhillyBug,

at the Temple University, Center City Campus on Thursday, June 15th. There were 101 attendees including Speakers from Temple University, Scranton University, Lehigh University, Oracle and Ellucian. There was good conversation around Banner 9 and Ellucian Ethos and Analytics.

This year we introduced PABUG sponsored technical webinars.

Some of the planning was a challenge this year because we lost some board members throughout the summer because of other commitments but the team pulled together to hold the PABUG 18th annual conference on November 19th, 20th and 21st . We had almost 500 attendees over the 2 days of sessions. The vendors provided a lot of prizes and support to the attendees. We really appreciated all their time at the tables and within sessions. This year too we recognized Jane Gilbert for her years of service with PABUG. Jane became an Emeriti Award Recipient.

A new attraction that we added to the conference was a charity fundraiser for Feeding America. We raised over $700 running a 50/50.

For me the experience was amazing primarily because of all the help and teamwork that came from the volunteers from many different schools. Not until you get to experience the power of everyone chipping in to make this conference work do you realize the magnitude of coordination, creativity and hard work that takes place. Thank you to every one that made PABUG 2017 a great success.

PABUG would like to sincerely thank our vendors for their support!
