Session Descriptions:
Shippensburg University’s Banner XE experience including where we are coming from, where we are at, where we are going, and the success and failures we’ve met along the way. Modules discussed will include Course Catalog, Class Schedule, Faculty Grade Entry, Events Management, Registration, and Advising Profile.
Panel – Ellucian Recruiter Implementation Best Practices:
Are you implementing Ellucian Recruiter? Have you recently implemented and are now looking for best practices to get the most bang for your buck? Join us to hear the perspectives of our panelists on the importance of appropriate planning, resource allocation, collaboration, teamwork, and support as related to implementation and on-going management. Subtopics discussed will include advanced finds, application building/support, communications, data integration, web front end, workflows and more! Find out what works and what doesn’t, and walk away more confident than before.
Automate your Financial Aid Processing Flow with TDClient and UC4 Scheduler:
Would you like to save yourself valuable processing time? Are you tired of having to manually download and upload your message classes with EDConnect? Do you still manually run your Banner processes? Why not automate the entire process! This session will show you how to implement TDClient and easily streamline your daily processing utilizing TDClient with UC4 Scheduler.
What will I Owe? Creating Custom Self-Service Information Using Variables:
Tired of answering the question, “How much will I owe?” Learn step by step how to customize Banner self-service screens with variables, by building a chart to show students what they will owe, plus tricks, tips, and examples of how to display almost any Banner data to whatever group of students you choose. If you have the info in Banner, you can display it in self-service, and control who sees it.
This session will provide an update of IUPs mobile application, which uses Ellucian Mobile as the framework.
Panel – Through the Looking Glass: Examining Unconscious Gender Bias in Technology:
In today’s workplace, unexamined assumptions and double standards, as well as invisible barriers embedded in organizational cultures, constrain opportunities for women. Join this panel discussion to learn to identify bias that makes it challenging for women to contribute fully to the work and goals of the organization. Three technology leaders will discuss their experiences with unconscious gender bias and describe how they have supported women in their organizations.
PLUS Loan Processing in Batch using Algorithmic Budgeting & Packaging
For schools with high-volume PLUS loans, processing them one-by-one can be labor intensive. By combining the power of period-based algorithmic budgeting and algorithmic batch-posting of awards, we can now process PLUS loans for multiple students at the same time. This session will go into detail about how to set up the algorithmic rules and pop sel necessary to process PLUS loans in batch.
Create Banner Events Using Argos
Learn about Lehigh University’s innovative use of Argos which allows end users to directly create events in the Banner database in real-time without using INB or XE, saving both time and resources. Discover the challenges we overcame and tricks we used to build this tool to empower the events and development staff while ensuring data integrity and consistency.
